Robot Vacuum for a Large Home: Mapping, Coverage and Recharge Checks
Evaluate accessible floor area, room selection, recharge behavior and multi-floor handling before choosing a large-home robot.

Short answer: choose for accessible cleaning area and documented recharge behavior, not the home's advertised square footage. A runtime claim alone cannot establish whether a robot will finish your layout. Separate coverage on one level from carrying the robot between levels.
Measure the route the robot can actually use
Our suggested planning sheet records rooms, thresholds, blocked doorways and the dock location. Exclude areas the robot cannot enter. Keep thick rugs and stairs as separate cleaning needs until the exact model documentation establishes compatibility.
Recharge-and-resume needs a specific answer
The X10 Pro Omni manual describes returning to the station when battery is low, then resuming unfinished cleaning after recharging sufficiently. That verifies a workflow for this model. It does not give a completion time for your home or make a battery-life claim transferable to a different suction setting.
Check whether the manual describes resuming an unfinished job, simply returning to charge, or requiring you to start again. Those are different behaviors. Ask the seller about the exact model if the documentation is silent.
More than one floor adds a handling question
A stored map is not evidence that the robot moves between floors by itself. Read the model's instructions for map selection, carrying and dock placement. Do not count a stair flight as accessible floor area.
Our recommendation: divide the brief into one-level coverage, room scheduling and between-level handling. Resolve each with the manual before paying for a higher suction headline. We have no measured whole-home completion time, so this guide does not claim that any model covers a stated house size in one run.

Frequently asked questions
Is advertised runtime enough to judge large-home coverage?
No. It does not establish the cleaning time for your route, floor conditions and selected mode.
Does multi-floor mapping mean the robot climbs stairs?
No. Map storage and movement between levels are separate questions; verify the carrying and dock instructions.
What should I verify when a battery runs low?
Check whether the exact model resumes unfinished cleaning after recharging or only returns to its station.
