Short answer: Hot-water washing is most relevant when mopping is frequent and dirty-pad handling is the chore you want the dock to reduce. It does not prove better whole-floor cleaning by itself. Compare the stated wash temperature, tank access, drying process, pad cost and the cleaning guidance for your floors.

Evidence boundary: this guide compares published specifications and dated offer information. It does not claim hands-on or laboratory testing.

What archived listings support

The Dreame L10s Pro Ultra Heat explicitly lists 136°F (58°C) mop washing at $349.96. The ECOVACS T50 MAX PRO Omni lists auto hot-water wash, dry and refill at $449.99. The Roborock Qrevo Curv lists hot-water mop washing at $849.99.

The dock still needs care

Warm washing does not eliminate dirty-water tanks, dock-tray residue or pad replacement. Check how the tray is removed, whether detergent is restricted, how drying works and what happens if the tank is not refilled.

Who should pay for it

It is easier to justify in a hard-floor home that mops several times a week. It is harder to justify when the robot mostly vacuums rugs or when the dock cannot be serviced conveniently. Start with routine and floor care, then compare price.

Frequently asked questions

Does hot water sanitize robot mop pads?

Do not assume sanitization unless the manufacturer provides a specific, supported claim and method. The listing here only documents wash-temperature language.

Can hot-water washing damage floors?

The dock washes the pad; floor moisture and cleaning solution still need to follow the flooring maker's guidance.

Is mop drying as important as washing?

Drying can matter for odor and storage between runs. Compare the complete wash-and-dry routine, not temperature alone.

How we made this decision

We weighed four equally important dimensions: cleaning or feature evidence, clarity of fit for this household question, automation and upkeep, and value at the checked price. We excluded any conclusion that would require undocumented testing.
