For a pet home with hard floors and low-pile rugs, start by comparing the Roborock Qrevo Curv and eufy X10 Pro Omni. Our research-based preference is to investigate Curv when brush wrapping is the recurring chore, and X10 when automated pad washing is a priority you can balance against brush cleanup. For a mostly carpeted home, this evidence does not establish one universal winner.

These are editorial choices from published observations, not machines we tested. Vacuum Wars' 2024 composite pet ranking favored Curv, Dreame L40 and X10. Its date and mixed criteria matter: it is not a new current-year pickup contest.

Pad washing matters as much as dry pickupPut X10 on the shortlist and read its model-specific assessment.Rug restrictions, overhead tank access and manual brush care may outweigh the station's convenience.

No suitable station space, or you do not want tank upkeepReconsider the cleaning format before comparing more docked robots.A cordless vacuum or a manually guided floor washer answers a different chore; compare those formats in the floor-care hub.

Those starting points are our judgments from the evidence described below. They are not a common-condition ranking. If the type of machine is still undecided, the floor-care format comparison comes first.

Two candidates, with different reasons to investigate

01

Roborock Qrevo Curv

Curv has a direct no-tangle observation in Vacuum Wars' dated review. We would give that more attention than a suction headline when hair wrapped on a brush is your problem. The reviewer explicitly called the test a developing procedure; it does not prove maintenance-free use or establish a result for every fur type. Verify the exact Curv configuration before ordering.

02

eufy X10 Pro Omni

X10 is worth considering when pad washing is part of the job you want automated. Consumer Analysis's separate brush-care observations make it a more qualified choice for someone trying to avoid hair removal. Its low-pile rug guidance and station access need to suit the home. Read the X10 assessment for that decision, including maintenance and dated replacement-cost inputs.

Dreame L40's place in a 2024 ranking does not establish a D20 Pro Plus result. S8 MaxV Ultra's test does not establish a Curv result. A brand name cannot carry evidence between models.

What the pickup and tangle tests actually tell us

Vacuum Wars' November 2024 pet report described its tested robots as nearly perfect at hard-floor hair pickup, with differences on carpet. Its carpet procedure used 2 grams of 2.5-inch hair, spread and pressed into carpet, then two cleaning runs. That is a defined sample and surface preparation, not a guarantee for every hard floor or carpet.

The Hook Up used loose cotton tufts on carpet in one maximum-suction, vacuum-only pass. X2 Omni blew cotton around, S8 MaxV Ultra left one dense clump and L10s Ultra left two small tufts. In a separate bathroom-floor test with 1 gram of long hair and two passes, S8 MaxV Ultra tangled enough to stop and report jammed brushes. A substitute-material pickup demonstration and a long-hair stoppage test answer different questions.

Vacuum Wars, Qrevo CurvNo tangles reported in its developing hair-tangle procedure. No measured lifetime or household maintenance guarantee.
Consumer Analysis, X10 Pro OmniWet bristles during mopping; separately, long-hair and some shorter pet-hair wrapping. No paired wet-versus-dry experiment proving a cause, and no measured cleanup-time comparison.
The Hook Up, X2 / S8 MaxV / L10sDifferent cotton-tuft pickup outcomes; S8 also stopped in the separate long-hair task. Not an embedded-pet-fur leaderboard and not a result for the Curv or X10.

Vacuum Wars presumed that brush clearance could explain some carpet differences in its 2024 discussion. That is the reviewer's hypothesis. It does not justify rejecting every vacuum-mop combination or assigning a fault to an untested model.

A station is another cleaning path to inspect

The Hook Up filled bins with stretched-out cotton balls to examine evacuation. Dock-equipped machines cleared four and five; the MACH R1 unit, described as the forthcoming eufy S1 Pro, clogged at six. The reviewer considered the load unusually large for frequently run robots. It was not an X10 test and does not define a safe pet-fur capacity.

In the same report, Narwal Freo X Ultra used an onboard bag with compression rather than dock evacuation. Compression mostly worked, but suction and pickup fell after the cotton load. Just A Dad's May 2026 discussion also showed a Mova P10 Pro collection path and raised questions about narrow transitions on other machines. Neither passage supplies a common-condition failure rate for our two candidates.

Our inspection advice: look for a test of the exact collection system and check how you reach the bin, bag and passages for cleaning. Vacuum Wars recommends adjustable mid-run emptying for homes with several large dogs; verify that feature in the exact model's current app rather than assuming every self-emptying dock supports it.

Apply the rug restriction to the actual model

The X10 manual advises avoiding high-pile rugs or rugs thicker than 18 mm because they may cause malfunction. Its stated 12 mm mop lift does not override that warning. Check X10's carpet modes before deciding whether a rug should be cleaned or excluded.

For hair around roller ends and other service points, use the long-hair maintenance guide. If a retailer's stars are driving the choice, read the rating-evidence guide before treating them as a hair-pickup test.

Frequently asked questions

Which should I investigate first for brush wrapping, Curv or X10?

Our research-based starting point is Curv because of the dated no-tangle observation. Its developing test does not establish a universal winner; X10 remains a candidate when pad washing and its operating limits fit the home.

Does this guide establish a winner for a mostly carpeted pet home?

No. Ask for embedded-hair results for the exact model and compatible carpet. Cotton-tuft demonstrations and differently configured tests cannot supply that missing comparison.

Does a self-emptying dock remove all pet-hair maintenance?

No. Check access to the exact robot's brush and collection path. The cited dock experiments use substitute material and do not measure your home's maintenance time or establish a safe fur capacity.

Sources, dates and what remains unknown

Vacuum Wars, November 2024 pet report: floor tests 02:31–03:11, brush-clearance hypothesis 04:08–04:28, composite ranking 07:32–07:50. Its Curv review describes the developing tangle test.

The Hook Up, March 2024: cotton and hair tasks 11:20–12:56; bin experiment 13:26–14:08. Model identities were checked against the written comparison. Consumer Analysis, March 2025 supplies the X10 observations at 02:15–02:29; Just A Dad, May 2026 supplies the path discussion at 03:26–04:32.

X10 restrictions come from the model manual and carpet guidance. We have not measured household cleanup time, a shared current-firmware carpet result or failure rates. Research revised October 15, 2026; the tests retain their dates. See our research method and affiliate disclosure.
