Short answer: Measure the vertical height, edge shape and approach angle of every transition on the robot's route. Then compare those measurements with the current manufacturer's documented climbing limit. Suction and review counts do not answer this question; wheel geometry and the actual threshold do.

Evidence boundary: this guide compares published specifications and dated offer information. It does not claim hands-on or laboratory testing.

Measure more than height

A rounded reducer strip is easier to approach than a sharp square lip of the same height. Note loose metal strips, deep gaps and whether a rug sits immediately behind the threshold. Test both directions because the approach can differ.

Which current features are relevant

The Roborock Qrevo Curv listing calls out an AdaptiLift chassis and 18,500 Pa suction. The Saros 10R is a premium edge-cleaning comparison, while the Q10 S5+ offers a lower $549.99 price. None should be assumed to clear a specific lip without checking its manual.

Fix the route before buying more robot

A low-profile transition ramp can be more reliable than choosing a robot on a vague climbing claim. Secure loose rugs and threshold strips, keep the charging route unobstructed, and use a no-go boundary for transitions the manufacturer does not support.

The diagram must describe the obstacle you have

The Curv manufacturer page discusses its movable chassis. That does not make every listed height a permitted rug pile or guarantee a climb over an arbitrary edge. Record the single or layered step construction, then compare the exact model diagram rather than another robot’s number.

Frequently asked questions

Does higher suction help a robot climb a threshold?

Not directly. Suction describes airflow performance, while threshold crossing depends mainly on wheel travel, chassis clearance and the edge shape.

Can a robot cross a sliding-door track?

Some shallow tracks may be manageable, but sharp rails and deep channels can trap or damage a robot. Check the documented limit and protect unsafe transitions.

Should I trust a video of another home?

Use it only as context. Your threshold dimensions and surface grip may differ.

How we made this decision

We weighed four equally important dimensions: cleaning or feature evidence, clarity of fit for this household question, automation and upkeep, and value at the checked price. We excluded any conclusion that would require undocumented testing.
